Compassion Fund - We collect contributions to our Compassion Fund throughout the year. This money is used, alongside caring people, to support our compassion work in the following areas.

Compassion People - This term speaks to our work to care for those we have a direct connection with in our community. Alongside our staff, our deacons lead this work of providing pastoral care and practical assistance to our Covenant family and beyond. If you are in need of pastoral care, please contact Jon at jon@covenantchurch.ca or by phone at 705-549-8477. Some specific Compassion People ministries include:

  • Prayer Ministry (a prayer room on Sunday mornings, a prayer wall to share requests that people can pray for, and prayer email:  prayer@covenantchurch.ca to ask for things to be shared to our Covenant prayer list)
  • Caring Freezer - we have a freezer at our church where people drop off frozen meals and food for whoever has need or desire for it at any given time. We track who gives food only for the sake of health & safety.

Compassion Projects - This term describes projects that Covenant people run or are directly connected with in our community. Covenant Church cheers each other on in these ministries, but we don't expect that everyone would be involved in them. Covenant also has funds available to help support these ministries. These projects include:

  • Water Street House Team - a team that supports, serves, and provides friendship to those at a community residence on Water Street.
  • Adopt-a-Road - Covenant Church has adopted a road to keep it clean. Lafontaine Rd. from Robert St. W. in Penetang to County Road #6 in Tiny is cleaned 2x per year by volunteers.
  • Community Meal Program - Covenant Church volunteers work alongside volunteers at First Presbyterian Church to host their Caring Kitchen on Mondays.

Compassion Partners - Covenant church using Compassion Fund income to provide direct support for local compassion partners. At the end of each year, we offer financial support to Compassion Place, The Salvation Army Foodbank,  St. Vincent de Paul Penetanguishene Foodbank, and The Salvation Army Street Outreach program.
