You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

Good Afternoon, Covenant Family.

How is your light shining today? Each of us is given unique opportunities each day to shine the light of Jesus into the world. Jesus invites us to let it shine rather than hiding it under a bowl. It is easy enough to hide our light. Sometimes it gets hidden behind fear. Maybe our insecurities hide it. Defensiveness and aggression can certainly hide our light. But those are all "bowls" . . . things that get in the way of people seeing our unique representation of the light of Jesus.

I encourage you to prayerfully consider how you can shine well today, this week, and throughout 2017.

Looking For Some Coaching?

Do you have a major decision to make in your life? Would you like someone to talk with to help you gain clarity and discernment about something? We have coaches that may be able to help you. A coach is someone who comes alongside you for one session, or a series of sessions, to help you discern a way forward. Recently a few people at Covenant participated in a level 1 Coaching Course along with others from BIC Canada and the Christian Missionary Alliance in Canada and they would be interested in helping you. You may be amazed at what God can do in your life with a little bit of guidance! For a list of available coaches, please contact Jon at jon@covenantchurch.ca.
