As you can see…snow is here! And with snow comes the job of clearing it. We are looking for a team of seven people to share the snow removal load at Covenant this winter. If we could have one person commit to each day of the week, we could keep the walks clear for the entire season. We have a good snow blower and shovels available for use at the church. And everyone who signs up will get shown what areas need to be cleared and where the equipment is to do so.
Because each day at our building looks a little different, so do the needs we have for each day.
- On Mondays, the snow needs to be cleared by 9 am for Early-On to use the space. If it snows later in the day, we also need to have it clear by 1:30 pm for Burkevale’s band and by 7 pm for AA.
- On Tuesdays, the snow needs to be cleared by around 9 am for our office to be accessible and for our Men’s Connection. Later snow needs to be cleared by 1:30 pm for Burkevale’s band.
- On Wednesdays, the snow needs to be cleared by around 9 am for our office to be accessible and for our Women’s Bible Study. Later snow needs to be cleared by 1:30 pm for Burkevale’s band and 5:30 pm for our youth programming.
- On Thursdays, the snow needs to be cleared by around 9 am for our office to be accessible and by 6 pm for music team rehearsals.
- On Fridays and Saturdays, the snow needs to be cleared in the morning, but there is no pressing time most weeks.
- On Sundays, the snow needs to be cleared by 8:30-9 am for our music & tech team and staff who arrive early to prepare for the service.
If on one of our busy days, you could only clear in the morning or afternoon, sign up for what you could do and we can share the load between more than seven people!

P.S. Over the past few years, we have had real difficulty getting people to sign up to help with this. If there is a chance you could do this, please sign up for a day and time that works best. Don’t assume that others will be able to step up because if everyone assumes that, the staff is left to clear the snow by themselves all winter!
