At Covenant, we invite followers of Jesus to follow Jesus in Baptism. Jesus was baptized when his cousin, John, immersed him in the water of the Jordan River. (Matthew 3:13-17) Jesus instructed his followers to use this baptism as a physical symbol of their spiritual connection to him. (Matthew 28:18-20) Baptism by going completely under the water (immersion) represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and marks us out for life we live after coming up from the water - a new Jesus guided life. (Romans 6:4)
