Dear friends, since God loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

-1 John 4:11-12

The way of Jesus is not meant to be lived alone.

The expression "one another" is used repeatedly in the writings of the earliest church as they work out what it means to follow Jesus. As we learn to live out the reality of Jesus within our lives, we need each other. The unique circumstances of each of our lives demand that we wrestle with what we learn and how to live the way of Jesus alongside others who know us and love us. We do this best in smaller groups characterized by discussion, discernment, support, and accountability.

At Covenant Christian Community Church these small groups exist as House Churches, Bible Studies, and Ministry Groups. They are smaller gatherings of the family that is Covenant. Some of these gatherings are in homes. Others meet at the church. Some of these house churches run for years. Others run as courses with a focus on something specific. Despite the variety in our House Churches, these are the spaces where we really get support, discernment, and accountability as we seek to live the way of Jesus in our world.
